It’s always good to put something back into your community........
STC-PR are incredibly proud of the pro bono work we carried out for over five years to help to raise funds for additional school resources, including providing a wonderful safe pastoral building for children to talk
Often described as ‘imaginative, creative and a little bit crazy’ with ideas, The Friends of Redhill have, in recent years, turned their primary school into Hogwarts to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first Harry Potter book, landed a helicopter full of Hogwarts characters onto the playing field in front of 500 flabbergasted children, and appeared on live BBC TV news and live radio, whilst hitting the Shropshire front pages
The Friends welcomed the National Children’s Circus to the school to help raise funds and to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the British circus
They were also responsible for the first ever Winterfest Celebration and fantastic Firework Finales for over 1000 people during Christmas celebrations
In 2019 the team enjoyed the school's first ever ‘Redfest’, a Glastonbury style festival event for key stage 2 pupils
Along with ‘Secrets, Spies and Superheroes’, a community fundraising event which helped celebrate 100 years of GCHQ, Code Breakers and the Bletchley Circle
Over the last few years, The Friends have helped the school purchase iPads, CD players, library books, outdoor furniture, interactive whiteboards, an outdoor castle and climbing frame, a carved wooden garden storyteller chair and sensory garden, and have recently helped the school lease a much needed minibus for school sporting competitions and after school clubs
And now, thanks to The Friends of Redhill, the children at the school have an amazing separate pastoral care building for many years to come.......
